Emily reached out after following my work for years and seeing the photos I’d created with some of our mutual friends. We instantly clicked and talked through the details of her New Orleans wedding weekend. She described it as colorful, artful, and full of experiences for her guests. We connected on the spot, and she booked immediately.

A few months later, I met Emily and Joe in person for their engagement session at the Great Sand Dunes in Colorado. I always love when couples choose to do an engagement session before their wedding. It gives us a chance to connect, create together, and for them to see my photography process firsthand.

The Wedding Weekend

Being part of Emily and Joe’s wedding celebration in New Orleans, Louisiana was truly special. From the very first call, I felt like we’d be long-term friends. Their wedding plans were refreshingly non-traditional, infused with Emily’s own artistic vision — which, as an artist herself, filled my heart.

I had always wanted to experience New Orleans — the energy, the live music, the rich culture, and the city’s vibrant wedding venues. Their choices of Dat Dog, colorful and vibrant for their welcome party. Then, The Pharmacy Museum and Toulouse Theater for their ceremony and reception perfectly matched my bold, unique photography style. It was one to remember and I’m grateful we can relive it though the photos.

Emily + Joe’s love is fun, easy, and magnetic. They are some of the kindest people I’ve ever met, and they’ve become very close to my heart.

There were countless unforgettable moments throughout the weekend. That said, their first look got me. Emily had gifted Joe a collection of cards throughout their time together and brought the entire box for the first look, along with a brand-new one for the wedding day.

Their wedding weekend in New Orleans completely blew me away. Everyone present embraced the love and joy in the air. The vendors brought everything together seamlessly — complete with a vibrant New Orleans second line parade.

If you’re planning a New Orleans wedding and looking for a photographer who will capture the joy, art, and energy of your day, I’d love to connect. Every wedding in New Orleans is unique, and I specialize in telling authentic stories with a colorful, artistic, and heartfelt approach.
